Set it up once. Every Zebra, Honeywell and SATO the same way.
Settings per printer, common settings across Zebra, Honeywell and SATO, and profiles that PrinterVision sends at power-up or on a schedule - so a replaced printer prints the same label as the one before it.
- Darkness 60 %
- Speed 152 mm/s
- Media sensor Gap
- Print method Thermal transfer
- Label size 100 × 150 mm
- Applied to Zebra · Honeywell · SATO
Illustration: values and printers are examples.
Every printer set by hand is a printer set differently.
One printer prints too light, another uses the wrong label size, and the spare that came back from repair has factory settings. Nobody notices until the scanner downstream cannot read the label.
For the site manager
What it costs your operation- Labels that are too light or cut off get rejected further down the chain.
- A replacement printer needs someone who knows the right settings, on site, before it can run.
- A new label format has to reach every printer before the next shift.
For IT
What actually keeps you busy- Each make names its settings differently, in its own tool.
- Fonts, graphics and formats are copied printer by printer.
- Unknown printers on the network get configured before anyone checked them.
Describe the setup once. PrinterVision sends it.
A profile holds the settings, files and firmware a printer should have. Provisioning decides when it goes out. Profiles work on Zebra (over WebLink) and Honeywell printers.
Build a profile
Settings, label formats, fonts, graphics and firmware, together, for a site, a model or a group of printers.
Choose when it goes out
At power-up, on a schedule, or right now. PrinterVision notices a restart and runs power-up provisioning.
Every printer follows
New, reset or replaced printers get the same setup as the rest, without anyone on site.
A printer is swapped on the dock.
09:10 - Printer DOCK-04 goes in for repair. A spare from the stockroom takes its place, with factory settings.
The spare shows up in PrinterVision as a new printer and waits for approval. A team lead approves it from the printer list.
At its next power-up, provisioning sends the dock profile: darkness, speed, label size and the shipping label format. The first label is right.
Someone looks up the settings of the old printer, enters them on the spare by hand, and copies the format over USB - if they are on site.
Everything that example runs on.
One language for Zebra, Honeywell and SATO.
The own settings of each Zebra, Honeywell and SATO printer, typed with their choices, ranges and units, read on demand. And common settings that mean the same on all three makes.
- Darkness in %, speed in mm/s, media sensor, print method
- Label length and width in mm, converted to each make's own setting
- Set a selection of Zebra, Honeywell and SATO printers at once
- Darkness 60 % → printer's own scale
- Speed 152 mm/s → printer's own unit
- Settings read Just now

The setup travels with the printer.
Profiles bundle settings, files and firmware for Zebra and Honeywell printers. Provisioning sends them at power-up or on a schedule. Label formats and other files go to any printer's print port, or onto its drive where the make allows it.
- Profiles with settings, files and firmware together (Zebra, Honeywell)
- Provisioning at power-up or on a schedule
- Label formats, fonts, graphics and command files
- Tags to group printers for profiles and automations

Network configurations set Wi-Fi and 802.1x on Zebra printers over WebLink. With approval switched on, a new printer gets nothing until someone approves it.
- Wi-Fi and 802.1x network configurations for Zebra printers
- New printers stay New: no profiles, files, settings or provisioning
- After approval, provisioning runs at the next power-up or schedule
- DOCK-04 (spare) Waiting for approval
- RECV-05 Approved

Common questions about printer configuration.
Can I set darkness and speed on printers of different makes at once?
Yes, on Zebra, Honeywell and SATO printers. Common settings - darkness in %, speed in mm/s, media sensor, print method, label length and width in mm - are converted to each make's own setting. Select printers of those makes in the printer list and set them together. Other makes are monitored, not configured.
What is a profile in PrinterVision?
A profile bundles settings, files and firmware. Provisioning sends it to printers at power-up or on a schedule, so a replaced or reset printer gets the same setup as the rest of its site. Profiles work on Zebra printers over WebLink and on Honeywell printers; SATO printers take settings and files one by one.
Can PrinterVision configure Wi-Fi and 802.1x on printers?
Yes, for Zebra printers connected over WebLink: network configurations set Wi-Fi and 802.1x. Honeywell and SATO printers get settings and files; other makes can be sent label formats and files on the print port.
Does a new printer get configured automatically?
Only once it is approved, if you switch approval on. A new printer then stays New - no profiles, files, settings or provisioning - until someone approves it. After approval, provisioning runs at its next power-up or schedule.
